Celebrating a New Chapter for ECCHO-Latino!
On Friday, October 10, we came together to celebrate a transformative milestone for ECCHO-Latino, Inc. during our Kickoff Partnership Celebration with the Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) as our fiscal sponsor! This partnership is more than a formal agreement; it represents a powerful stride toward our mission: promoting access to information and educational resources in Spanish for Latino educators in Massachusetts. With the ability to receive#donations and #funds, we are now better equipped to cultivate a supportive and collaborative community that enhances the educational quality of our programs.
Our core values — Advocacy, Community, and Training — guide every action we take. We are dedicated to:
* Defending the rights of Spanish-speaking educators.
* Fostering an inclusive environment of mutual support.
* Providing continuous training on best practices.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Andrew Melendez and the entire LEDC team, including Gabriela Lopez Roman and Sara Garvin, for your unwavering belief in our mission. Your support opens doors for us to apply for grants and expand our reach.
We extend our deep appreciation to our esteemed guests, including State Senator Adam Gomez Sr., Jose Delgado (Springfield City Councilor), Rachelle Hannoush M.Ed. (Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children (MAAEYC), Amy O’Leary (Strategies for Children), and representatives from key community partners:
– Anthony Lorenzano, Manager at TD Bank
– Leonela Gonzalez-Fogarty, English For Life
– Kevin Moforte, MassDevelopment
– Cathy Farrell, Valley Opportunity Council
– Donar Saillant, President of Centro Cultural y Deportivo Dominicano – CCDD Your presence and support are invaluable as we embark on this exciting new chapter!
A special thank you to all our guests who traveled from Boston to celebrate with us in Springfield, MA. Together, we look forward to empowering our community and enhancing the educational experiences of Latino educators and families.
We are also grateful to Harmony Entertainment, led by Josefina and Peter, for their exceptional work on our brand identity and upcoming website. A big shoutout to Mabel Sweet Bakery for providing delicious food that left our guests raving! (Fun fact: many were hesitant to eat because the presentation was simply too beautiful to disturb!) Thank you to Angelina from Balloon Design by Anyi for her creative balloon decor that added a vibrant touch to our celebration.
Lastly, we want to acknowledge the dedication of all ECCHO-Latino members, special shoutout to Maryi Cabrera Santana – Board Member of ECCHO-Latino. Your commitment and hard work are the foundation of our success.
